Professional Experience: Unlimited credits

We acknowledge that many professions contribute to financial crime prevention, even if not on a full-time basis. Professionals in AML, investigations, fraud prevention, law enforcement, or other full-time financial crime roles are eligible for 10 credits per full year of experience.

For other professions, credit eligibility is based on the percentage of time dedicated to financial crime detection and prevention.

Example 1: A bank branch manager spending 20% of their time on suspicious transactions, staff training, and financial crime-related tasks earns 2 credits per year.

Example 2: A loan officer dedicating 30% of their time to customer due diligence, fraud risk assessments, and compliance requests earns 3 credits per year.

Example 3: A forensic accountant spending 60% of their time on fraud-related litigation, financial investigations, and fraud control development earns 6 credits per year.

Example 4: A police officer devoting 40% of their time to investigating financial crimes like fraud, money laundering, and human trafficking earns 4 credits per year.

Training: Maximum 20 credits

Training must be completed within the last three years, with 60 minutes of continuous training equaling one credit.

Accepted formats include live internet-based, in-person, in-house, and self-paced online sessions.

Topics include money laundering, fraud, cybercrime, sanctions, investigations, compliance, and related areas.

Professional Certification: Maximum 5 credits

A qualified certification program must include a minimum of eight hours of instruction and passing a certification exam.

Examples: CPA, CRCM, CFE, NASD Series, CFP, CFA, ICA Diploma, AMLCA, CCI, and CAMS.

Candidates may only claim one certification for the 5 credits.
