ABOUT THE EVENT

Falling victim to a fraud scam is a universal experience and not limited to a particular demographic.  Anyone can fall victim to a well phrased fraudulent email and/or a poised, confident fraudster.  Living in a post-pandemic society, these tactics have evolved to include Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) fraud as well as a swell in other fraud tactics.  In 2021, FinCEN noted that fraud was one of its AML/CFT National Priorities and both law enforcement and the private sector have an obligation to respond to the call.

The FBI’s Dallas Field Office will discuss which fraud trends are occupying the top of their inbox and how these trends have been brought to their attention.  Learn straight from law enforcement what the current landscape looks like and the role financial institutions have to play in assisting to combat these troubling trends.

WHAT WILL YOU LEARN?

  • Fraud trends in Texas from 2022-2023
  • How financial institutions can better guard against these fraud tactics
  • How customers can defend themselves from falling victim to fraud scams
