Leading international association will partner with one of Canada’s largest colleges to deliver financial crime detection and prevention training and certification to students, alumni and professionals.

Sept. 27, 2016 – MIAMI– The Association of Certified Financial Crime Specialists (ACFCS), a BARBRI Professional Association, and Seneca College, a leading higher education system in Toronto, today announced a strategic partnership.

Through this collaboration, ACFCS will partner with Seneca College’s School of Accounting & Financial Services to deliver financial crime training and certification to the College’s students, alumni and overall professionals in the white collar crime detection and prevention field.

With campuses across the Greater Toronto Area and Peterborough, Seneca offers degrees, diplomas and certificates renowned for their quality and respected by employers. The College strives to combine the highest academic standards with practical, hands-on learning, expert teaching faculty and the latest technology to ensure graduates are career-ready.

Through the partnership, ACFCS and Seneca will offer students and alumni an exceptional opportunity to become certified in financial crime expertise. The certified financial crime specialist (CFCS) credential is the only certification to verify knowledge and skills across all areas of financial crime. ACFCS seeks to help strengthen Seneca’s role as a leading centre for educational excellence aimed at detecting and preventing financial crime.

Additionally, through this relationship, Seneca students will have access to ACFCS information and training content through webinars, podcasts, and online on-demand education, among other offerings.

“This new relationship demonstrates the thought leadership and commitment of Seneca College in providing its students and alumni community forward-thinking training and state-of-the-art certification on financial crime detection and prevention,” said ACFCS Executive Director, Garry Clement. “We’re very excited about this new opportunity to share knowledge and exchange ideas.”

”The CFCS certification is an excellent fit with our fraud examination and regulatory compliance curriculum,” added Karen Murkar, Chair of Seneca’s School of Accounting and Financial Services. “We are especially delighted to inject financial crime training into our Honours Bachelor of Commerce (Financial Services Management) degree beginning this academic year.”

The Association of Certified Financial Crime Specialists (ACFCS), a BARBRI Professional Association, is a worldwide organization for private and public sector professionals who work in diverse financial crime prevention disciplines, including anti-money laundering, FATCA-tax evasion, FCPA-corruption, fraud, data analytics and security, compliance, regulation, enforcement and more. ACFCS awards the Certified Financial Crime Specialist (CFCS) certification to qualified candidates who pass a proctored examination offered at authorized testing centers around the world. Professionals in the financial crime field from more than 50 nations have already obtained the CFCS certification.
