2016 was a record-setting year for anti-corruption enforcement in the US, and law enforcement agencies have kept up the pace in 2017. With several large financial services firms ensnared in anti-bribery cases, and greater international cooperation on enforcement, it’s clear that corruption threats are still a rising risk for financial institutions.

Fortunately, guidance recently issued by the Wolfsberg Group offers suggestions on how to implement and improve an effective anti-bribery and corruption program, with a focus on the financial sector. This Quick Tips webinar will explore the guidance to pull out key lessons. Attendees will learn:

  • Background on the guidance, why it matters, and how it differs from previous versions
  • Tips for assessing corruption threats and managing risks of intermediaries
  • Techniques for guarding against corruption in hiring practices
  • How AML and anti-corruption both connect and diverge, and the perils of relying too much on AML processes for anti-bribery controls
  • And more

This session is eligible for 1 CFCS credits (including attendance and review and completion of supplementary resources).
